Juicy Fruit and Orbit

Juicy Fruit and Orbit are two different gum companies that have different ways of approaching an audience through their television advertisement. While looking into the different ads aired by these brands, it is apparent that their intended audience is different since the effect they advertise is different. While Juicy Fruit uses young, stylish, and famous people, Orbit tends to portray everyday type of people. What this difference says is that one gum makes you be active and feel young, while the other will lighten up a common persons day. More specifically, I compared the ad of Julianne Hough where she dances and sings along with the advertising song of "makes you move," in comparison to an Orbit ad or a couple fighting due to infidelity. The kind of effect Juicy fruit provides is the feeling of satisfaction, of wanting to become active, it basically cheers up an audience with the song, person, and colors used. On the other hand, Orbit plays in a dramatic situation where a persons life is so bad and dramatic that one of the only highlights that can result is the satisfaction of feeling clean ( with your teeth). In the end, cheerful kind of people should use Juicy Fruit and feel "great" while sad people with issues should rely on Orbit to make them feel a bit better about themselves.
