German Shepherds Vs. Pugs

Although pug species have grown more popular in European countries, they still lack the work obedient characteristics of the German Shepherds. The playful little devil or monkey personality of pugs, make them an appealing choice for families. However, they still lack the protective dispositions to efficiently guard families from burglars or other foreign threats. And this is one of the qualities of German Shepherds that appeal to families. Because German Shepherds are eminently known for their unique strength, intelligence, and obedience, these dogs are used in all kinds of occupations. Whether herding sheep on farmlands, or working in police S.W.A.T. teams, these dogs are chosen for their diligence and loyalty to their masters. Thus, the common appearance of these dogs working on the fields and streets, give these dogs credibility as charming and astute guardians. And this is not to say that pugs are not protectors in any sense. Just like any shrewd and vigilant dog, pugs can use their barks to defend homes. However, if a home was broken into, the physical shape and size of pugs do not intimidate assailants. Instead, their short and stubby form may only startle a foreigner in the dark, not frighten them away. Also, because of their size, the pugs themselves are in harm’s way. In contrast, German Shepherds are naturally built with aggressiveness and wolf-like characteristic when facing unwanted guests. Therefore, though some people choose to select dogs for only their cute and charming personalities, other individuals choose to breed and raise dogs for not only companionship, but security as well. Hence, German Shepherds fulfill both demands, while not losing their ability to stay attractive or amiable.
